Yesterday was talk like a pirate day. For some reason, my office had a costume contest, which I won in my sleep. I won a treasure chest filled with ring pops, candy necklaces, and chocolate coins.

Lost book, unlost!
The system works! If you think this is amazing, the guy in line before me just got back his wallet, with all the cash still in it. Hooray for good people. On the bus!!!

23andMe DNA Analysis Service | Gilt City National
Just bit the bullet and ordered the 23andMe kit. I've been meaning to do this for a while. I'm excited.

Positive news
My back has been giving me issues lately. I think it's my work chair. So I'm trying different theories of computer postures. They range from the conventional 90 degree angles for everything, to the way back "relaxed" posture. What I didn't realize was that it was important for your feet to be flat on the ground. I appropriated a foot rest thing for this, since the desk heights don't seem to be adjustable. I'm hoping that this thing will be useful.
In other good news, someone from MUNI called me today! I had misplaced (lost) my library book this weekend and filed a MUNI lost item claim. It has been turned it and I can go to the Muni office and pick it up. I can't believe this actually worked. I was prepared to pay the SFPL a fine for my bookish sins, but by the grace of his flying noodliness, it has been returned to me. Praise pasta.
Because I had anticipated being without book, and not wanting to miss out on the story, I went ahead and bought another used copy on Amazon for essentially the cost of shipping (I poop you not; it was 1cent plus $3.99 shipping). So now I have a copy to read at my leisure. Perhaps the library would like this book after I am done. It can be a back up copy for the next dope who loses this book.
