I've been reading again, and it's great. I just finished an Isabel Allende book, "The Japanese Lover". Before this were a few Octavia Butler books. Most I borrow from the library and shoot into my Kindle app. It's pretty amazing.
Returning Kindle books early is not easy. One cannot return them from the app or the library website. You have to go to the Amazon site and manage devices.

MF lasers

I had a great experience yesterday.

I have these warts in my left foot. They've been there since the beginning of the year. I've tried duct tape and OTC treatments. They help a little but it's the end of September and they're still there.

So yesterday I got on Yelp and found a podiatrist who uses lasers to treat them. I booked a same day appointment.

Yes, it did hurt. It's a deep but very pointed and concentrated piercing pain. Each wart (I have 4) got 3-4 pulses.

I'm pretty sure my insurance covers this treatment. I know this Dr is in network.

So I have a follow up in two weeks. I might need another treatment, I may not.

I am a major laser fan.

Thunderstorms and using new foot

Yes, thunder and lightning today, very unusual for the Bay Area.
I'm also altering Erin's dress for the wedding she is going to this coming weekend. I had already shortened the straps and now I am supposed to shorten and hem the bottom. I've cut what I needed to, but I had a lot of doubts about whether or not I could hem the bottom. The new machine she gave me has printed on the box, an accessory called a "narrow hem foot". As it turns out, my old machine has one of these in its accessory tray. I have never used this thing. I'm not sure I even knew what it did. However, a narrow hem it was exactly what I needed so I decided to find a video on how to use it. It works. I can't believe it

Today is warm and cloudy.

So much has happened. Today is starting out well. It's Monday morning, and Dan Roche sent me money for a log!
I made plans with Sam to have lunch this week.

Terrible NOTD - Konstellation

I didn't realize this was a matte finish nail polish when I picked it up. I guess matte is back. This picture did not capture the different colors that this polish shows. In the picture, it's just kind of a flat dark gray.
In the sun, this is sometimes green, sometimes purple, and sparkly without being glossy. So interesting!
I'm going to put a shiny topcoat on one nail to see if it helps bring it the sparkles.

Sewing machine doctor

I'm taking my machine into the shop today. I tried to make some lace underwear and the needles kept snapping and the zig zag stitch is behaving unsatisfyingly. It could use a good cleaning too. After this, I can probably do basic oiling maintenance at home

Overall a good day

I wanted to keep track of the good things that happened today (Friday, the 24th)

* We had a good therapy session
* I won a game of thunderstone against both Jon and Dan
* I noticed that paid for priority mail for an eBay auction and they send it first class. I asked for a refund if the difference, expecting resistance, but got an enthusiastic yes!
* More mochi ice cream

New washing machine!

They raised my rent by $15 but also gave us a new washing machine!
