Period Mat cloth pad review
You know how sometimes you read reviews on Amazon that are like, "I received this product in exchange for an honest review"? Well, I got some cloth pads to review :D
They're from a company called Period Mate. I have not heard of them before but I have historically only bought my cloth pads from Etsy so I'm probably out of the loop when it comes to other competing brands. I am a current user of cloth pantyliners so i was very excited to try these.
They have a charcoal liner in the middle which is supposed to help with odor control. This is a feature I've never tried so I was even more excited to get these. On top of that, I got them in a purple star pattern for the outside/wings! The actual pad part is red, which is such an obvious solution but not something I've come across before. They are very soft, made out of a smooth and silky fleece type fabric with TWO sets of snaps so you can adjust the width to your underwear.
The actual use case was honestly a little disappointing. I found them pretty thick for a pantiliner. The worst part though, was the smell! I wasn't sure if it was me so I switched to my old cotton liners for a couple of days before returning to them (a new one of course). The smell was still there :( I am not sure if it's the polyester fleece fabric or this charcoal liner but it is pretty gross. I have not experienced smells from my regular cotton liners.
I'm going to give them a good hot wash and try again next month
