Another way to make pour over!
Well, I do love coffee devices. I have a couple of pourover drippers, a Chemex cone, a hand bean grinder and now this mug with BUILT IN FILTER.
I thought this was a pretty nifty device. It is basically a glass mug, with a reusable perforated metal filter, like the one I have for my Chemex. The last part is a lid that fits either the cup or the filter. I found that a coarse grind allowed the water to pass thru too quickly, and that a fine grind was better. Espresso was too fine, and made a silty brew.
It made a very decent pour over cup. I love that everything fits together well, as opposed to my old ceramic
drip coffee filter, which was very top heavy and at risk of toppling over.
Another neat feature is that the filter has markings for how much coffee to use. I found that each mark equaled one TBS, and I like to use two, so keep that in mind.
