So this morning the door buzzer buzzed and I went outside to collect the package from the mail guy. And locked myself out. Luckily Yvonne from downstairs is super nice and let me hang out in her house and use her phone. My flatemate had to come all the way from Tooting (an hour's train journey) to let me in :(
Then I went home and my period was going to start and I was all, "crap". Then I remembered that I can use my DIVACUP this month and then I was excited! :D
I'm going to talk about this now. If you don't want to hear it, get out.
Last warning.
Okay. So it's difficult to get it. Even when folded up, it looks kind of enormous. And then there is the matter of getting it to "open up" once it's in there. Omg.
So I'm not sure I ever got it to pop open. There is supposed to be a definite thudding feeling when it pops open. It was comfortable to wear though. I couldnt' feel it at all.
Then taking it out. I have some residual mental trauma from when I tried the Instead cup many, many years ago - I COULD NOT REACH IT. I'm sure I bruised myself internally from all the fishing around.
Anyway, this wasn't too bad. You have to kind of "push down" and it moves forward a little. Plus there is a little knob you can grab but you really have to reach the heck in there.
The most interesting part was looking at the cup's contents. Let me tell you, menstrual blood is not just blood.
In conclusion, I look forward to using this contraption. The story is that it gets easier to insert with practice and I'm psyched to make less garbage every month. Yay!
