Last night turned out to be pretty cool. I was ready for a quiet night in to recover from several nights out in a row. However, as I was getting ready to go home, Matt rang me. He was at an AdMonster conference all day. AdMonster is basically a coalition/conference for online operations! I met up with them at Biagio on Picadilly.
It was incredibly refreshing to meet people who first of all understand what I do for a living. Secondly, people who do this and have order and procedures for what we do. Thirdly, people who have trained their reps to follow these procedures, and lastly, people who can advise us on how to improve our operations. They kept saying things that we've all been thinking for months! It was like they were reading my mind - it was amazing.
The guy who was running this conference is an American who has been living here for 4 years. He said London's his favorite city that he's ever lived in. Crap.
Anyway, the food was great and free to boot. All the wine you can drink, though I had narry a drop (too much the night before).
I called the Oystercard people - they're sending me a replacement...in 5 days. So I'll have to pay for all my journeys until then :(
