Yay. Things are looking up. The first couple of days here were filled with crappy, necessary things - finding a T-mobile store (not that my phone works here), finding an outlet converter, buying WiFi for my room, getting an A to Z(ed), searching for rooms.
On Sunday I took the tube over to Oxford Street. The shopping there is ridiculous. I was good though - I bought NOTHING!
That afternoon I went to check out a a room in Hampstead. The room is tiny, but I LOVE the location. Hampstead is cute and full of character (different from "element"), the street is windy and full of trees, it's a 5 minute walk from the Finchley Rd station, and it's a cute building with a tennis court. The guy currently living in my room is some dude from Boston and will be moving out on Saturday. Hopefully sooner, but def by Saturday!
On Sunday night I took the choobe over to Shoreditch and met up with Dan at a cool place called Cargo. There was a Spanish band playing (self-described as Castillian space rock). It was also full of hipsters. The hipster semi-mullet still seems to be in in some circles.
This week seems pretty open. I think I'd like to check out Blackfriars this weekend and do a walk around the area.
Scrumpy season isn't until February. I can make it a birthday journey :)
