Today is Friday and I didn't have to go to work. They get (Good) Friday and (Easter) Monday off here. Most of the shops and restaurants are open though.
Yesterday I was bullied into doing the Easter quiz after work. I was in a really bad mood which was exacerbated by a glass of white wine. I bailed after two agonizing hours when it just got too hard to pretend to be okay in front of all these people I have to "professional" around.
I went over to Ben's house and we plus Joe went to a wedding reception of a friend of theirs. It was good to see them. It was good to hang out with someone I've known for years. It was good to do something completely different yet completely commonplace.
It's weird being in London now that I know I will be here for a year. It's no longer this 6 month adventure where I try to cram as much fun into it as possible. I have to start looking at London as home now. I can calm down, space out my partying, and have boring nights in. I am looking forward to making deeper connections with people here. But I know I will miss SF so much.
This split with A has contributed to the "what am I doing here?" moments. Do I really want to be here? Why? Haven't I "done" London?
No. Not enough. The days are already getting longer and warmer :) There are still lots of adventures left here.
Today the flatmates and I went up to Hampstead Heath. There was a little carnival going on. We went on the bumper cars. Matt won me a purple unicorn. :)
Ellie and Lee, two people who used to live in my room (separately), met up with us and we all came back here for a little 19b reunion.
